A nine kilometer individual time trial was on the menu of stage 2 in the BinckBank Tour today. The course started and ended in Voorburg and was almost entirely flat, but the rain made the road extremely slippery, causing a few crashes among the riders, including Tiesj Benoot. The Lotto Soudal rider fortunately avoided serious injuries and he was able to remount his bike and finish the stage. The Lotto Soudal rider lost a bit of skin but he will still start tomorrow in stage three. Tim Wellens was one of the first riders down the ramp when the road were not as wet as they would be later, allowing him to clock the ninth time of the day, seventeen seconds behind race winner Stefan Küng. The Swiss rider also took the lead in the overall classification, ahead of Maciej Bodnar and Tom Dumoulin
